One way is to rebuild pam with --enable-debug. This will make pam very
verbose :) For me it make many entries in /var/log/lxdm.log, but I
didn't find something usefull (we have the same problem in Ubuntu). I
suspected gnome-keyring, which was broken earlier, but recent update
didn't fix the problem, and and I can't find any log file for
gnome-keyring.
