BTW, All the LXDE core components use Gtk and GLib (which is not glibc) and other libraries which have a strong integration with GLib (like libwnck for lxpanel or libfm for pcmanfm, which is based on gtk). Obviously the glibc system calls are used in the lowest-level components (the ones which do the hard work), and GLib itself uses glibc.
Anyway GLib (with Gtk and Gio) is the main component of the gnome desktop environment, but this doesn't mean that depends on it.
