Dear list,
I am trying to install a minimal LXDE on my Debian laptop, and I am unable
to install without the following packages:

  libavahi-client3 libavahi-common-data libavahi-common3

Could somebody please explain, whether this dependency is related to LXDE
in general, or whether it is specific to my Debian distribution.

I am asking myself, how can such an non-essential package be reqired for
LXDE to work?

>From what I read in the package description:
Avahi is a fully LGPL framework for Multicast DNS Service Discovery. It
allows programs to publish and discover services and hosts running on a
local network with no specific configuration. For example you can plug into
a network and instantly find printers to print to, files to look at and
people to talk to.

I am by no means interested in such an evil service running on my computer.
In fact, the only reason why I wanted LXDE rather than Gnome was exactely
getting rid of evil packages.

I would appreciet if somebody could comment on this

regards,
Konrad
