As long as the name is used in its usual context it implies "desktop
environment" so that "DE" does not tell anything not already apparent.

Then it can be LQ as well.

If you want to use the name in a different context, just say "LQ desktop
environment".

Of course there is "ksh" for "Korn SHell" but such names belong to a
heavily populated name space in PATH so they need to distinguish between
co-existing say ksh and kinit. Desktop environment names are not being
used in the same fashion (even when they are reflected in executables'
names there would be hardly any ambiguity with an "lq-" prefix).

Compare "X" which is not called "XWS".
Neither has "LQ" to be called "LQDE".

We do not call each other "Rune Human", "Christian Human" or do we? :)
