I propose several ideas for Wayland support:

1.) Fork KWin for Wayland and make it less dependent on all those loads upon
loads of KDE Libraries and bloat that is unnecessary to make the Window Manager
work.

2.) Port EggWM which is coded in QT to Wayland: http://code.google.com/p/eggwm/

3.) Use Weston as the Window Manager and throw in a few tweaks

4.) Create a new LXDE Window Manager

5.) Don't use QT anymore, scrap most of whats been done, port WYODesktop
(http://wyodesktop.sourceforge.net/) to wayland and built up a wxwindows based
DE.

Even though 5 sounds like the least likely as there has already been lots of
work to port lxde to QT, it still seems like a viable option if someone can
port over wyodesktop.

Anyways I hope my input can help in some way.
