Hi

Martin Graesslin is working with us to have Kwin be a more independent
project and be compilable and usable without the bigger parts of the
KDE suite. In the mean time on X11, openbox is perfectly acceptable.
There is no realistic alternative because a window manager/wayland
compositor is a huge chunk of work and nobody stepped up to do actual
work on it. I personally love Kwin and am looking forward to KF5 and
using it without kde-workspace.
