Are we talking about Qt4 or Qt5 builds ?
I'm not sure if it's even possible to use cmake v2.6.4. If it's technically
possible. It it's possible it will take time and manpower that it's
probably not available.
It isn't possible to compile cmake v2.8.9 on CentOS6 and use it ?

Are you talking about: http://lxqt.org/downloads/lxqt/0.7.0/ ?
They are in  <name>-<version>.tar.* form but they don't extract to
<name>-<version>. It can be done if there isn't opposition.
