I'm really interested to work on a pure Qt, distro-agnostic network manager applet.

Hi all

Two small questions and a feedback about network manager:

- To prepare to 0.9 packaging, which modules will be released on next milestone, the same previous one as 0.8 series or lxqt-admin will be now joining the flock ?

- How is the state on lxde. It is ok to obsolete on Fedora 22, or will be maintained/developed for some time ahead ?

About NetworkManager, i did a quick chat with Lamarque, the KDE plasma-nm maintainer and networkmanager-qt developer. The news are basically good. Recently we have a release of networkmanager-qt and the plasma-nm applet use it, so basically what is needed is do the graphical applet and reuse all the in layer functions from the KDE applet which uses only Qt, part of the job is done. The bad news comes that this is not a code that can be done like in a week by me or any limited available time developers, and even if some fast as hell do it, testing time will not make it able to get into 0.9 release time.
Any suggestions ?
For us in Fedora we will rely on gtk only applet for now.

Regards, Helio

Ps. Is there anything beyond install/package review that i could help ?

    Hi list

Pretty nice to see we actually progressed quite a bit on this. I'm
still waiting for feedback for some of the milestoned issues, please
have a look at them if they're still in the list:
    https://github.com/lxde/lxqt/issues?q=is%3Aopen+is%3Aissue+milestone%3A0.9.0

I would like us to enter first phase of feature freeze. What I mean by
that is delaying any *new* non-bugfix PRs until 1.0. Would like to
give us until the end of the week to decide on currently-open PRs. We
have a lot of translation PRs open (I already merged some and assigned
you the portuguese ones, Luis) which need to land, a couple of feature
PRs which should land (in pcmanfm-qt and lxqt-panel especially).

I'd like to encourage everyone to update all of LXQt and file any
polishing/minor issues on the github tracker and label them "polish".
I won't be milestoning those unless really necessary but fixes for
these aren't blocked by the freeze.

If you have code cleanups to land, now is also the time.
