Exactly, a desktop user with multiple accounts. Logs into the X desktop always with the same account, but starts select applications under his other accounts. > If you want to share the keyboard/display between few users then it's > much simpler and reliable to use different logins/desktops for them, and > press Ctrl+Alt+Fx is simpler than rely on users to remember where each > anyone have applications on a single desktop. I'm using the desktop menu. There I created a submenu-item, and in the *.desktop files of mine (placed under /usr/share/applications/my-*) I use the group-id of that menu-item, so that they all get grouped under that menu item. I have no experience yet how to pop the application in other desktop windows (desktop 1, 2, ...), so doing everything in just desktop 1. Since the menu is shared among all desktop windows, then I could just do as you say: goto other desktop window and open the application there. Yes I get your point: locating the open app then should be easier that way, true. But I think there is a difference in our methods, you mean via Ctrl-Alt-Fx but IMHO this is not really necessary because one can use the virtual desktop windows 1..n of the desktop. I've to figure out how to increase the number of these panes as currently there are only 2 available. Thx for the tips to improve it. > > With best regards, > Andriy. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ _______________________________________________ Lxde-list mailing list Lxde-list@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/lxde-list
