Dear all,

I'm trying to help a local non profit to upgrade their old desktops and
switch to lubuntu at the same time. For various reasons, I'm trying to
customize and make sure their desktop experience is as good as possible
(and familiar as many of them are windows users).

I'm unclear on the roadmap and future of lxde as it comes to lxqt and so
unsure where to invest my time. I'd love to do work that will last for at
least the 4yrs of LTS, so basically comes 16.04 it would be ideal, given
limited resources, that whatever setup won't be obsolete or a maintenance
nightmare because everything switches to QT.

Since I've yet to do a lot of work on it, I'm also ok to go to qt right off
the bat, but support still seems very limited and I need to give them
something stable.

what would you recommend?

thank you in advance,

Spike
