While I supposedly know LXDE and related tools well enough, I never heard
about something like that.

In my opinion, that could be a good idea although I have no idea how to
implement it correctly - the most probably, some UDEV part should emit a
DBus event, and some tool should subscribe to that event and act as it
configured to. In regards of GUI, the button or additional choise might
be added to LXRandr utility, which will setup config for that tool. The
tool itself may be simply added to session autostart.
