Hello,

Asking this question again which went unanswered a month and a half ago,

Is there some kind of documented guidance for how LXDE and/or LXQt
should be deployed?

Reason why I'm asking is that LXDE has been a supported DE on openSUSE
through a great many years and distro versions, but a few versions ago
suddenly a big change happened... Whereas LXDE had always been
packaged/deployed with a generic Gnome base subsystem, that no longer
was a requirement.

The lack of a specified base sub-system now means that LXDE and LXQt
can have radically different look and feel, and even application menu
design depending on the installed base sub-system.

I would like to know if this change was intentional or accidental, and
if there is any guidance within the LXDE and LXQt projects about
recommended or required subcomponents. Or, short of that an official
example of LXDE/LXQt on a particular distro which can then be
inspected.

TIA,
Tony
