Your description of the current status is certainly accurate. To change the situation more effort at our side or the participation of other Qt desktop environment projects would be needed. After having a closer look at the current projects I cannot see either happening, e. g. all of the other Qt desktop environments do feature a terminal emulator already.

Basically the idea behind QtDesktop still seems pretty good to me. An urgent need to change the GitHub project's status doesn't exist as it doesn't involve any work or cost.

As for the software in question:
→ Screengrab: Discussion about its future is taking place in [1]
as mentioned before and, a bit hidden and misplaced, in [2].
  Results should be waited for.
→ qps: Should remain available until a proper replacement is.
→ QTermWidget / QTerminal: Basically these would be better off in
QtDesktop than in LXQt due to their technical nature, IMO.
Besides all their problems looking through their repositories
suggests both still do attract quite some attention among users
  and potential contributors.
Anyway a discussion about their future is ongoing and should be
  waited for as well [3].
→ EasyPaint: A Qt vector graphics editor is certainly one of the
most important missing applications in the Qt ecosystem, and be
  it an incomplete one feature-wise.
@tsujan Given that Kvantum is relying on SVG, did you ever evaluate
whether a tool like this may be feasible, in particular whether
restarting EasyPaint may be an option?

All in all I'd suggest to leave the QtDesktop GitHub repository as-is for now, push the discussion about the future of the components involved and make a final decision about QtDesktop depending on the results.
