The lxmusic package installed is 0.4.7-1.1+b1. Although there are three
pipewire packages installed (pipewire, pipewire-bin and
pipewire-media-session, with their library packages), the system is using
pulseaudio by default.
Running pactl info, initially displayed the source as a USB webcam plugged
in. Removing the webcam, changed the default as shown, but the volume
control still does not work. Other audio apps such as Audacious, work fine,
including their volume controls.
The LXDE volume control applet in the panel, will adjust the volume coming
from lxmusic.
I uninstalled lxmusic completely, then reinstalled it. No change in
behavior.
With webcam:
