I agree. original one was more attractive with blue colors imo.

I'm confused. If I go to https://github.com/lxde there's an LXDE logo

That avatar is quite visible to me and I use a light theme. I'm not
entirely sure what 'the day theme' is or 'the night theme'?
By selecting the favicon variant of the logo, it would be visible in
both modes. If anyone with write access to the organization's account
would have a minute to change this, the ready-to-go png file is
available at https://postimg.cc/D4cQwv4G for the next seven days.
That image is quite flat and unattractive. The original has a subtle
shading effect that makes it more attractive IMHO.
