I always edit userdefs.h _before_ running the configure script.  Is it
irrelevant whether one edits userdefs.h before or after?

iirc, ALL of the anonymous account settings at the bottom of userdefs.h are
not handled by the configure script.  It's probably better left that way.
TEMP_SPACE can be dealt with as an environment variable "LYNX_TEMP_SPACE".
