OK, and now you've written a piece of documentation to be included with
the lynx distribution.

I've been playing with doing direct email smtp-style using a telnet to
my smtp server at port 25.  It really is very simple, a lot simpler than
having umpteen different email program interfaces.  Below is what I copied
off the screen of the telnet program. (Sorry, local echo is not working
on the Windows hyperterm program.):
