Are you saying that "msgfmt -a -v -o lynx.mo ja.po" is not working?
About the only quick fix I can think of is to cc your message to the
translator/maintainer, Atsuhito Kohda <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>,
in case he's not following the list anymore.
