Guess it depends on what you did. :)
The _desired_ result of customization is that all keys work as expected.
What are your "gray keys," Insert/Delete and PageUp/PageDown? What codes
do they produce? Stick the actual codes in your terminfo file and recompile.
Just as an example, a "typical" 106 Japanese PC (DOS/V) keypad looks like:
kich1=\E[1~, khome=\E[2~, kpp=\E[3~,
kdch1=\E[4~, kend=\E[5~, knp=\E[6~,
