It looks good.

I introduced LyX to some colleagues of mine, and the top two question they
all ask are:

1) Is it just as powerful as LaTeX? (Will I be able to use my favorite
packages? Can I do everything in LyX that I can do in LaTeX?)

You already covered this with one of your points, but I think this should
be stressed. You don't use LyX if you want to hit the TeX-button at the
start of you document and hit it again at the end. It is only there for
emergencies.

2) Do I have to do everything with the mouse and point+click?

Answer: No. Keybindings bypass all needs to use the mouse and Mathed has
automatic Latex->Lyx conversion. (Can I take this opportunity to say that
that feature is great? It is great.)
