Agreed.

It eats resources also of the people not involved. As in downloading it, fixing compilation, longer search times, package creation on release and so on.

Just keeping it in does not come for free, and there's no technical reason not to use Qt4. Qt4 is more widely available than and almost uniformly
better across the whole range.
