I personally arrive at saturation. I simply cannot maintain this rhythm. What I really mean is that 1.5.0svn is good enough for me and for a lot of people already. So, even if we did not solve all 1.4 regressions WRT 1.3, I reckon that 1.5 is very stable (stabler than 1.4.3 in fact), very fast and bring an amazing lot of new feature in addition to unicode.

It's time to unleash the beast! After beta 2 of course...

indeed, we need at least another beta.

i have switched to 1.5svn now and it is *very* useable.

there are issues though:

1. there are problems with bibtex (as it turns out):

Case mismatch error between cite keys krueger1999:qje and Krueger1999:qje
---line 35 of file classno2007march2.aux
 : \citation{krueger1999:qje
 :                          }
I'm skipping whatever remains of this command

etc

2. sometimes i get grey blocks in the working area (often after viewing a dvi)

3. i copy-pasted some english text from openoffice and lyx insisted i save as utf8. it turned out that there were some funky quotation marks which caused this. perhaps we should have a "force to latin1" option or something like that?

4. i was editing some tables and deleting rows resulted in the deletion of rows other than the one the cursor was in (i haven't been able to reproduce this, but it happened)

5. when having open the view source panel and clicking between two paragraphs the one of the two pars was not updated and the cursor left small vertical bars (haven't tried to reproduce)

and i am sure more things will show up once people start to use 1.5 seriously.

but i agree 1.5 is better than 1.4 and we are really close

:-)
