One missing bit still is the macro creation, some menu command or toolbar button. This "\newcommand..."+C-m is non-intuitive.

In the same way some nice icon in a toolbar could make modification of macros easier. The add/remove param commands are too deep in the menu. But that was not my focus. Making them easier accessible is trivial.

Yes, all of that gives the feeling of complicatedness ;-)
