I think you're right, it should work ;-)
<space>^3 should cause the equivalent of 'M-p Right'.
The user presses space several times to indent, the block is indented.
The idea is not _that_ bad...
What is the TAB-key mapped to by the way? Could TAB and S-TAB be used for
M-P Right/Left?
