No, according to Qt (and confirmed in my experiments), caching is
enabled by default.
So it will be enabled unless we check for existence? We may need to add
some such checks, though, then again, it looks as if Georg's patch
works. It may lead to other problems, in its current form, but can
probably be adpated.
