The symptoms are the same, the test cases are the same - by all appearances the
problem is the same. Why not reopen the big report, if, as is likely, the fix
was incomplete?

Try to re-generate the PDF file for the same document with LyX 1.5.7
creates
letter-sized pages, but the text occupies in them occupies the 7.5x9.25
area.

The relevant parts of the LyX file are, at the top:
\paperorientation portrait
\paperwidth 7.5in
\paperheight 9.25in
\leftmargin 28mm
\topmargin 15mm
\rightmargin 15mm
\bottommargin 15mm
\headheight 1cm
\headsep 1cm
\footskip 1cm
I even tried moving my ~/.lyx aside to have it regenerated anew... Didn't
help... Please, advise.
