I translate what I read into: The sidebar solution does not work on Windows (with Qt). To make it work one has to provide (much) platform specific code. Something like that may doable on Mac too. But today I see no developer to make that happen soon. As said before for Mac currently I'm searching for some code already. I don't if I have any success soon. And Windows is a no-go for me.
