though it might be difficult to keep the optional arguments for the
InsetLayout separate from those for the paragraph. So this may need to
wait until the argument stuff gets re-worked, which I'm planning for the

Fair enough. Thanks for the work on this so far. I'll consider changing the inset into a paragraph style.

The whole point of the required argument stuff was supposed
to be to get rid of all the ERT in beamer. But it turned out not to be
sufficient.

It's not completely surprising to me because the author of beamer uses I think his own kind of key parser which do not necessarily match the conventional LaTeX way of doing things (I'm thinking about the pgfkeys package and stuff).

On a related note, is "Short Title" getting a new name?
