Well I can reassure you on that front. We plan to do nothing new on the 
GUII/Model/View Separation until ALL the dialogs are moved into frontends. 
This, at least, is straightforward.

Allan has been planning to look at the toolbar and menubar code for some 
time; I'll let him get on with it! Me, I'll just port the dialogs.

I'm sure you are right. This process will be long and hard. I'm also sure 
we'll go Model/View Separation first in places where we can't work out the 
full GUII schmooze in one go.

I, for one, am interested in working, elegant code. Emphasis on BOTH 
adjectives.
