I have no clue why but this only happens on 1 PC and there only with one of the user accounts. I therefore reinstalled LyX 2.1.4 and now it works. To verify the result I uninstalled LyX 2.1.4, then I installed 2.1.0, and step by step upgraded to 2..1.4 - everything works fine.
So I would say, please ignore my complaint about a regression. Tomorrow I will test one 2 more PCs. regards Uwe
