The thread seems to discuss it more about whether it makes sense for
packaging.

I'm still curious for individual use (i.e., my personal builds) since I
think it could save some time because when I'm working on a patch and
changing e.g., a single .cpp file, it's often the last linking stage
that takes the most time.

I would be willing to sacrifice a small chance of introduce a bug in my
personal build for the speed gain. If I come across a bug, I would just
make sure I could reproduce it without using Mold before investigating
it.

Does LyX use any "linker scripts", which would rule out Mold from what I
understand?
