Dear all,
Over at ticket #13369, there is a discussion about why the cursor
position is remembered when editing except when editing at end of line.
I do not see the point of it, but it is an explicit decision made in
2007 that several commits took care to keep alive and even refine.
My hunch is that we should get rid of this thing. Can you think of a
reason why this might be useful?
