*nods*  As long is at can at least handle diagonal arrows, and
preferably arrows between not-necessarily adjacent cells.

As you can see from the sample I sent you, for those notes I used
xypic.  If I were drawing such diagrams now, I'd either use Barr's
xydiag, which is a simpler interface layered on xypic, or Paul
Taylor's diagram.  Both Taylor and Barr are real-life mathematicians
writing papers in related areas, so they can be assumed to have a good 
idea of what diagrams need drawing.
