It starts to read a little better. Angus We are happy to announce the release of the LGPL-licensed, version 1.0 of the xforms graphical toolkit library used by LyX. This release means that FROM THIS DATE ON the LyX team will no longer provide support for xforms-0.88 or xforms-0.89. The imminent bug-fix release of LyX-1.2.2 can be compiled against older versions of the xforms library. However, we recommend that all LyX users upgrade to xforms-1.0. It contains many, many bug fixes that LyX has had to work around (often in ineffective fashion). The LyX-1.3 series will REQUIRE the use of xforms-1.0 with the xforms frontend. The API of xforms-1.0 is unchanged from xforms-0.89. This means that all recent versions of LyX up to and including 1.2.2 will compile without modification against it. Unfortunately, the compiled xforms-1.0 library is binary incompatible with xforms-0.89. This means that you must recompile LyX against the xforms-1.0 library. Or grab a new LyX rpm from the LyX ftp site of course. Get the xforms src distro at either ftp://ncmir.ucsd.edu/pub/xforms/OpenSource/xforms-1.0-release.tgz ftp://ftp.lyx.org/pub/xforms/OpenSource/xforms-1.0-release.tgz Binary and source code rpms can be found at ftp://ftp.devel.lyx.org/pub/lyx/RPMS/
