Hello LyXers,

I uploaded the new version 3.21 of the LyXWinInstaller. Like the last
version an update installer is provided. With this you can easily update
your LyX 1.5.2 installation to LyX 1.5.3: Log in as adminstrator on your
PC and execute the update installer.
Note: The update installer only works when LyX 1.5.2 was installed also
with the
LyXWinInstaller!

The installer can be downloaded from:
https://developer.berlios.de/project/showfiles.php?group_id=5117&release_id=13857

and soon also from
ftp://ftp.lyx.org/pub/lyx/bin/1.5.3
(under the name AltInstaller)

(More infos about the installer can be found here:
 http://wiki.lyx.org/Windows/LyXWinInstaller )

Changelog:
-------------
Version 3.21
- LyX 1.5.3 (http://www.lyx.org/announce/1_5_3.txt)

- updated to MiKTeX 2.7 (build 2904)
- updated to ImageMagick 6.3.7-5
- updated to GSview 4.9
- updated to Ghostscript 8.61
- updated to JabRef 2.3.1

- MiKTeX 2.4 is no longer supported
You can update to a more recent version by uninstalling MiKTeX 2.4
and then installing LyX using the "complete" installer variant of
  this installer
-----

The support for MiKTeX 2.4 has been dropped because this version is sine
a while also no longer maintained by the MiKTeX developer.

The complete installer variant of this release comes with the brand new
MiKTeX 2.7 that was also released today. It will only be installed if
neither MiKTeX 2.6 nor 2.5 is installed on your system. As always with
brand new major releases, don't update to MiKTeX 2.7 when you are
finishing large or important documents. There is no need for an urgent
update.

--- Info only for experienced LaTeX users ---
MiKTeX 2.7 is now fully Vista compatible and comes with XeTeX, a LaTeX
engine with full unicode support: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XeTeX
LyX 1.5.3 has not yet an export option where XeTeX is used, but you can
define one in the file format section of the preferences.

happy LyXing and best regards
Uwe
