Q: In the key bord prefs I configured Arabic as first, German as
second keybord table. I cannot delete the field filled with
"German". After deleting and saving the prefs, it still pops up in
the prefs.

I am not sure whether this interferes my problem or not.
This doesn't interfere with the cursor handling. However, you can
turn off all keyboard maps, save, restart LyX and try again.
