However, the file I sent you works fine with TeXLive 2009. What is your
TeX distribution ? The powerdot problem may be solved wit TeXLive 2009:
\ProvidesLanguage{frenchb}
[2009/03/16 v2.3d French support from the babel system]
Your patch is needed anyway I guess, as you got a clash.
I can use beamer layout to improve powerdot layout (introduce sections
in the style menu, e.g.), that would not violate the string freeze if I
use copy/paste. Or will that wait for lyx-1.6.6 ?
