Possibilities: 1. upgrade to LyX 2.0.0 - attached shows an SVG figure originally created in Inkscape, inserted into LyX and exported as PDF. 2. export your SVG image as EPS. 3. you haven't got ImageMagick installed. Without it, LyX cannot do any conversions - it needs to convert images to EPS for TeX and EPS images to bitmap to display on the screen. John
