There is a bug in newer IM versions so that PDF images are not displayed
within LyX. I reported this several times but the IM people did not
reply. The problem is that IM doesn't have a bug tracker and if the
devels don't have time after one reported a bug, nothing will be done
later on.
You could help me in reporting the bug again. maybe we have now more luck.
Perl is only shipped with the LyX installer in a stripped-down version.
This saves download size and users who need a full installation of Perl
will have Perl installed. LyX's Perl doesn't interfere with an installed
Perl.
