I'll only hazard a guess that 'A' means "Alt" which is the way my
keyboard is marked. As a "senior citizen" and a LyX "newbie" (in the
USA at that!) I have to struggle to remember that the LyX Users Guide does
point this out. I wonder where the term "Meta" Key originated. I know
about the "Apple" key on those computers and I recently replaced the
keyboard on my venerable '486 with one (cost: US$9 -amazing!-) which has
extra keys with Microsoft emblems on them. I may never learn, having gone
from DOS to OS/2 to LINUX - where I have much to study and memorize.

.....It said "Requires Windows 95 or better"... So I installed Linux....
