I have a problem with the Lyx installation and I am new to Lyx.
Latex installed in the system is Latex2e.
Lyx compiles and runs well (except from any kind of printing) on a Sparc
with Solaris 2.5.1 machine. But during configuration, I get the
following messages :
Checking for LaTeX2e program...
+checking for "latex"... not useable
+checking for "latex2e"...not useable
Then when I want to print or view as postscript or dvi, I get the
message from Lyx :
"Alert - LaTeX did not work! Missing log file: <filename>.tex"
But Latex runs from the command line, and I have it defined in my path
variable.
I know nothing about Latex either...
I have spent way too many days trying to make a simple printout and
nothing!
Does anybody have any idea of what could be wrong? Thank you!
