Hi,
I got the lastest lyx archive (lyx-current.tar.gz) from the server, untarred it
and tried to install it with ./configure in the lyx-0.12.0 directory. Answer
was:
computername:/root/lyx-0.12.0 # ./configure
loading cache ./config.cache
configuring LyX version 0.12.0
checking for prefix by checking for lyx... /usr/X11R6/bin/lyx
checking whether make sets ${MAKE}... yes
checking for a BSD compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c
checking for a working C++ compiler... configure: error: Unable to find a working C++
compiler
computername:/root/lyx-0.12.0 #
I looked to the config.log file:
This file contains any messages produced by compilers while
running configure, to aid debugging if configure makes a mistake.
configure:623: checking for lyx
configure:681: checking whether make sets ${MAKE}
configure:718: checking for a BSD compatible install
configure:777: checking for a working C++ compiler
configure:811: gcc -o conftest conftest.C 1>&5
gcc: installation problem, cannot exec `cc1plus': No such file or directory
configure: failed program was:
#line 807 "configure"
#include "confdefs.h"
class foo { int bar; }; main(){return(0);}
configure:811: -o conftest conftest.C 1>&5
../configure: -o: command not found
I tried the gcc -o contest conftest.C manually, but there is no file conftest.C
Of course I have gcc installed on my SuSE 5.3 Intel machine.
What is wrong with my system? Thanks for any help in advance.
