I just installed RH6.0 on this machine, am I missing some libraries or
something? Upgrading cpp and gcc to 2.95-2 didn't help.
Yes, you probably do not have the glibc-devel package installed.
Also, "upgrading" gcc might have been a serious mistake.
RH is set up to use egcs; there is no official gcc package.
If I were you, I would never install unofficial upgrades to basic
packages like c libraries, compiler, linker, etc. I got burnt many
times over. Those upgrades in the contrib dir are for hackers who
want to be on the bleeding edge, and they know what they are doing.
