I work with the version 1.0.3 of Lyx.
I'm quite a novice with Lyx, so maybe I havent got the clue about this
tool yet. I plan to make up my thesis with it.
So my question is concerning tables.
I find it quite hard, to fill in the text properly being in Lyx mode.
There are no line breaks within the columns, so a table exceeds easily
the borders of my lyx-window. With float tables it is even more
disappointing to work. They will be deformed, if their width excels the
windows-frame. I understand of cource, that there's is not so much
trouble after the latex-compile or in the dvi/ps file. But when you have
to work with tables you would like to see their contents displayed in a
convenient manner.
Unfortunately, LateX wont choose the width of the columns on its own, to
make it fit to a page. Is this true ? Do I have to state every time the
width by the {p=..} switches ??
