Lyx-1.1.1 on our Solaris-2.6 workstations crashes if we do
File->Export->Custom, where the Ascii custom export and the program
name are preconfigured in /usr/local/share/lyx/lyxrc. The program is
a filter that plucks the address out of a letter and sends it to the
printer with the appropriate Postscript formatting and printer
commands to print an envelope. It works fine with lyx-1.0.0.
As much as I appreciate the fine job the developers are doing with
LyX, it seems from this bug and the fax bug that version 1.1.1 was not
quite ready for prime time. Perhaps I misunderstood the announcement,
which seemed to suggest that this was a major real release and not
betaware.
If it would be useful, I could build an unstripped version of
lyx-1.1.1 and capture a stack trace of the crash. Regards,
