My cheap solution (kludge?) is to run them through Xfig and export to eps. I
don't recall if Xfig takes .jpg though.
It additionally allows me to change the images as desired (adding features,
etc.). While I haven't explored it, the GIMP may have export (Save As...)
capabilities, too.
