I use another program called xv on Solaris.
With it I have converted some gifs to eps. For these pictures it worked
fine. When I look at them with ghostview they look as the gifs.
The size however was about 10 times larger.
When I include these figures in Lyx, on the screen it looks ok, but when I
print to postscript, then the size of the figure changes (on the screen)
which leads to a poor quality.
