High! Several people wrote about the problems with standard graphic format conversion into eps for usage with lyx or latex. I've used two filters to convert scanned and processed slides from jpeg to eps with good results when printing on color laser printers and "slide printers". The two filters are the "djpeg" filter which converts the pictures from jpeg to pnm and after that the standard "pnmtops" to get the eps format. The disadvantage is the disk space you need for the eps files. But the advantages of the resulting texts are much greater. And you should calculate the "really" needed pixelnumber for the specific document.
