I tend to agree with Pablo on this.  While a beginner myself as well, I don't
know the value of a newsgroup over this list.  NG's (and I believe their
recipients) are quite subject to spam.  Having a NG won't IMHO sell lyx to
more people any more than than an occasional post to some other major NG
(don't know which, but there's gotta be one out there somewhere... a Tex
group perhaps?).  

I believe pushing the real value of this list _on_the_Lyx_site_ will do more
for those interested than anything else.  Another thing to do would be to
push its mention in the documentation to the forefront.  Perhaps a
"readmeNOW.support" doc of some sort which advertises the list would be
appropriate (unless it's already there... I joined the list from the site
without a 2nd thought so never looked for one).

I'm anxious about a newsgroup causing more headaches than anything else, with
little to gain.  My two bits...
