Have you ever used Scientific Workplace?
Imagine something like LyX. You start writing
"It is well know that the integral
\int e^x sin^2 x dx
equals ..." oops. What? Exactly, push the 'evaluate' button and the
result is inserted. You are far more productive this way than launching
a seperate application and do import and export manually.
